How it works
Online auctions are more straightforward than estate-agency chains. Here's the Clickbid Property process from both sides of the sale.
For buyers
- 01
Create your account
Register free and verify your identity. It takes a few minutes and unlocks downloads and bidding.
- 02
Review the documents
Download the title, searches and special conditions for any listing before you decide.
- 03
Confirm your finance
Bids are binding, so make sure your deposit, fees and funding are ready before you bid.
- 04
Bid online
Set your maximum bid and the system will raise it on your behalf only when others outbid you.
- 05
Complete the sale
Pay the 10% deposit and buyer's fee, then complete within the agreed window — usually 28 days.
For sellers
- 01
Free valuation
We assess your property and suggest a guide price and reserve that protect your interests.
- 02
Prepare the documents
Your solicitor prepares the legal pack while we photograph, describe and list the property.
- 03
Marketing window
Your listing goes live for up to 30 days with viewings arranged by our team.
- 04
Auction closes
The highest bid above reserve wins and contracts exchange automatically.
- 05
Completion
Sale funds arrive on the agreed completion date, typically 28 days after the auction ends.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a winning bid legally binding?
- Yes. When the auction timer reaches zero, the winning bidder and seller are contractually committed and the sale proceeds to completion.
- What is a guide price?
- A guide price is an indication of where bidding may begin. The reserve price — the minimum the seller will accept — is usually set close to it.
- What fees does a buyer pay?
- The buyer's fee is 3.6% of the purchase price (minimum £3,600), payable on exchange alongside the 10% deposit.
- Can I view a property before bidding?
- Yes. Group viewings are arranged for most listings, and we can often accommodate individual appointments where the seller agrees.
